About the role
We are seeking an experienced Retail Manager to take full operational ownership of our retail store, team, and supporting operations. This is a genuine management role suited to someone who wants to lead, build, and be accountable for outcomes.

Employment Type: Permanent, Full time
Salary Range: $75,000 to $85,000 plus guaranteed superannuation
Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily operations of the APCO fuel service station, convenience store, and food service areas to ensure efficient business performance and high customer service standards.
- Monitor fuel, grocery, food, and retail stock levels, coordinate ordering activities, and maintain appropriate inventory control procedures to minimise shortages and wastage.
- Supervise, train, and support retail staff, including preparing work rosters, allocating duties, monitoring performance, and ensuring compliance with workplace policies and procedures.
- Develop and implement sales, merchandising, and promotional strategies to maximise revenue, improve customer engagement, and increase store profitability.
- Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety regulations, food safety standards, fuel handling procedures, and company operational policies.
- Monitor daily financial transactions, reconcile cash registers, prepare sales reports, and assist in budgeting and cost control activities.
- Resolve customer enquiries, complaints, and service issues professionally to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction and repeat business.
- Coordinate store presentation, cleanliness, and maintenance standards to ensure a safe, organised, and welcoming retail environment.
- Liaise with suppliers, service providers, and senior management regarding stock supply, operational requirements, and business performance improvements.
- Analyse sales trends, customer demand, and operational performance data to support decision-making and improve overall store efficiency.
Skills, experience and education required
· Diploma or higher qualification in Retail Management, Business Administration or related field.
· Minimum 1 year full-time relevant experience as a Retail Supervisor or Retail Manager.
· Strong leadership and staff management skills.
· Inventory and purchasing management experience.
· Financial and sales reporting capability.
· Customer service excellence.
· Knowledge of food safety and WHS compliance.
· Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
