Bacchus Marsh Childcare & Kindergarten is a private early learning centre. We are committed to excellence in childcare and ensuring children's safety and well-being. Our service provides excellent early learning opportunities for families with children aged from six weeks old to five years of age. At Bacchus Marsh Childcare & Kindergarten, we seek a passionate Cook to join our small, friendly team. This role provides flexibility to a work-life balance and allows the successful candidate to create nutritious, allergen-friendly meals for the children to enjoy. This position is casual, 15 hours per week. You will be required to work 3hrs everyday from Monday to Friday.
Qualifications & experience
· Food safety and food handling qualification
· A current working with children check (Employee)
· Food safety and food handling qualification
· Excellent understanding of preparing meals for children with special dietary requirements
· Demonstrated knowledge of Food Safety Standards
· Strong communication skills, reliable and punctual
Tasks & responsibilities
· Plan and prepare daily nutritious meals, including morning tea, lunch, and afternoon tea for children 0 to 6 years of age, including preparation of puree and any dietary requirements.
· Support the health and wellbeing of the children through planning and preparing nutritious meals and snacks
· Prepare meals to meet the needs of children with special dietary requirements and allergies
· Interact with Educators, children, and families to build a sense of community and engagement.
· Maintaining a safe and hygienic kitchen, in line with the centre policies.
