Full Job Description

Utilise your project management expertise and knowledge of the corrections system to support Corrections Victoria.
Ongoing, Full time opportunity.
VPS grade 5: $116,413 - $140,849 plus superannuation.

The Department of Justice and Community Safety is seeking a Project Manager to provide a critical role at Corrections Victoria in the Security and Intelligence Division.

About the Business Unit

The Security and Intelligence Division is responsible for the oversite of several key strategic functions within CV, including Security Risk Management, Electronic Monitoring, Correctional Emergency Response, Emergency Management, including exercising plans and contingencies, and Intelligence.

The Security Standards Unit (SSU) is responsible for several of these strategic functions, which are focused on security risk management, physical security, annual procedural security reviews, schematic plans, fire preparedness planning, and state-wide locksmith services, as well as maintaining a range of policy documents. The SSU is responsible for monitoring the minimum-security requirements for all prisons and secure locations and ensuring that the standards are reviewed regularly. The unit also provides assistance, advice and support to CV regarding security, fire response and emerging technology.

About the Role

Some of your duties will include:

Manage the delivery of various high-level and complex operational and strategic projects related to the SSU's responsibilities.
Assist in delivering and managing complex projects in other Security and Intelligence Division business units as required.
Prepare high-level briefing papers, complex correspondence, and proposals on various issues in a time-pressured environment.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will have:

Demonstrated understanding and operational knowledge of the corrections system and the key issues impacting Corrections Victoria.
Ability to manage and deliver complex projects and procurement activity in a correctional environment.
Expertise in brief and report writing.

Qualifications/requirements

A relevant qualification in project management would be desirable.
