What is our Clinical Midwife - Lactation Consultant role?

As part of a multidisciplinary team within a BFHI accredited Health service, provides clinical leadership and advanced lactation expertise to ensure comprehensive evidence based breastfeeding education and support is delivered within the IBCLC scope of practice. Develops and provides teaching opportunities, lectures and workshops for families and health professionals on the Protection, Promotion and Support of Breastfeeding within the organisation and the wider community. Facilitates and promotes patient safety and quality of care in line with the NMHS Vision, Mission and Values.

Whilst this selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy, it may also be used to fill other "similar" vacancies throughout the health service. In addition to this, should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised vacancy, then the next most suitable applicant may also be selected from this process. Both of these options remain valid for a period of twelve (12) months from when the authorised delegate endorses the recruitment decision.
