As our Paralegal you will be part of a supportive and collegiate in-house legal team that will provide you with hands-on experience while working for an organisation that positively changes lives.
Our Paralegal position is a shared casual role requiring approximately 18 hours a week.
As our Paralegal, your main purpose will be:
- Drafting, reviewing, amending, and negotiating a wide variety of agreements between the Children’s Cancer Institute and external organisations.
- Liaising with internal and external stakeholders in a professional and respectful manner.
- Working with the Head of Legal and Legal Counsel to draft or update company policies and procedures.
- Performing administrative duties and contributing to the overall functions of the team.
- Conducting legal research into a wide range of areas of law (including commercial, contract, intellectual property, fundraising, privacy) with respect to matters affecting the Children’s Cancer Institute.
- Any other tasks assigned by the Head of Legal and Legal Counsel.
To succeed you will…
- Be a UNSW student in at least 2nd year of your law degree.
- Have at least 1 year left to complete of your law degree.
- Have a high-level of motivation, reliability and productivity.
- Demonstrate strong communication skills and competence in various aspects of law, particularly contracts and intellectual property.
- Enjoy working with a degree of independence but have the ability to work well in a small team.
- Show excellent research and writing skills, along with solid computer skills.
