Bread Team Leader – Prove Patisserie

Prove Patisserie (“Prove”) is a patisserie and artisan bakery located on Magill Rd, Stepney in Adelaide. Our products are prepared and baked on the premises, and supplied to the wholesale and retail markets of Adelaide.

At Prove we are on a mission to raise the standard of our industry, by building a high-performing team, to create exceptional products, and become a South Australian food icon.

We are looking for an experienced Team Leader, who fosters our values (Quality. Excellence. Service. Sustainability) and help shape the future of our business.

The Role

As a Team Leader, you will work closely with the production manager to ensure the day-to-day operations of the bread team run smoothly while motivating and guiding your team to deliver exceptional products, service, and consistency. You will play an important role in maintaining standards, improving team performance, and helping create a positive and professional workplace.

Reports to: Production Manager

Direct reports: Bread Team, Pastry Team Leader

Coordinates with: Operations /Retail Manager

Responsibilities

Lead (inspire and manage) the bread production team of 3-4 people
Lead by example by modelling our values
Assist in planning and managing daily pastry production schedules to meet demand
Oversee daily production to ensure quality, consistency, and efficiency
Uphold food safety, hygiene, and compliance standards
Assist in stock management and ordering
Assist in maintaining and improving systems, processes, and workflows
Train and support team members
Work closely with the production manager and pastry team leader to ensure daily goals are met

About You

You need to be able to convince us that you ….

Have a passion for things food and bakery
Hold a certificate 3 or above in bakery or equivalent
Have relevant experience in a senior production or kitchen leadership role managing a team greater than 3
Experience in large-scale or high-volume production artisan bakery with both wholesale and retail
Sound knowledge of sourdough and specialty flour with the ability adapt and change
Skills with ‘Asian Style’ bakery goods
Must have appropriate citizenship, residency or visa (Unrestricted working hours)
Are a natural leader, with good emotional intelligence (self-awareness and empathy), respect for team members and capable of adapting how you lead dependant on who you are leading
Have the ability to hold oneself and others accountable
Have production planning, organisational and time management skills
Demonstrates exceptional attention to detail and a strong commitment to quality, recognising that no task is too small or unimportant for any team member.
Have situational awareness: an ability to monitor the food production environment, recognise problems and proactively develop solutions
Will derive satisfaction through your team members’ success
