situ is a tech start-up company, with world-leading technology that allows consumers to walk around a home in 3D.
situ's technology extends to the full suite of solutions from virtual reality to desktop walkthrough of customised home layouts, with downloadable hi-res images rendering in seconds. These views included a customisable choice of furniture and product assets.
To facilitate the selection of furniture and products, we require the skillset of a number of 3D Artists to work on a vast range of hard surface architectural and environmental assets. Applicants must be able to demonstrate high quality true photo real work with traditional polygon modelling as well as SubD, NURBS, and be competent with texturing in programs such as Adobe Substance Suite. The assets we create use a traditional real-time workflow including LODs, Lightmapping, and PBR Materials. We also require applicants to be able to efficiently convert high res assets for offline rendering to real-time useable assets.
We are a company who have strict pipelines and processes that must be adhered to at all times. You will answer to an art team leader and will be held accountable for the quality of your own work. Applicants must demonstrate skills in the following:
- Must be able to communicate proficiently in English.
- Comprehensive knowledge of a 3D DCC: Maya, 3DS Max, Modo, Blender, etc.
- Comprehensive knowledge of PBR texturing in Substance or Quixel Mixer.
- Extensive skillset in all types of UV Mapping.
- Extensive knowledge of baking high poly to low poly.
- Knowledge of NURBS or Spline Modelling.
- Experience in modelling all type of furniture, fittings, hardware, cabinetry, appliances, and to a lesser extent, homes.
- Must have an eye to detail and accuracy.
- Must pass the initial Art test given to applicants.
- Must possess excellent communication skills and a professional manner at all times.
- Able to adhere to deadlines.
- Must be able to work in a team as well as autonomously.
- Proof of Licenses and Subscriptions for all software that you use.
Our application process is conducted in three parts.

The initial interview with the Lead 3D Artist.

If successful with the initial interview you will be given an art test, which is time limited.
- If you are successful in the completion of the art test you will have a third interview with higher management.
