About the Role
This is a varied role where no two days are the same.
As the first point of contact for our patients, you'll play an important role in delivering exceptional customer service while helping ensure the smooth day-to-day running of our busy specialist practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Greeting patients and providing exceptional customer service
- Answering phones and managing appointments
- Processing consultation and procedure payments
- Processing Medicare and health fund claims
- Assisting with private and public hospital surgical bookings
- Coordinating follow-up and post-operative appointments
- Issuing accounts and following up outstanding accounts
- General reception and administrative duties
What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who is organised, proactive, adaptable and enjoys working as part of a close-knit team.
The successful applicant will demonstrate:
- Previous experience in medical reception or administration (specialist or surgical practice experience is an advantage, but not essential)
- Experience using Genie or similar medical software (preferred but not essential — full training will be provided)
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new systems and processes
- A positive attitude and willingness to help wherever needed
- A willingness to accept feedback and continually improve
- A proactive, team-oriented approach and strong work ethic
- A genuine commitment to providing exceptional customer service

About the Position
This is a casual position with flexible weekday hours.
We're looking for someone with broad weekday availability, including the ability to assist at short notice when required. This role is best suited to applicants who are flexible and available to work between three and five weekdays, depending on the operational needs of the practice.
In most weeks, we anticipate offering regular weekday shifts, typically around three days per week, with opportunities for additional shifts when available.
For the right candidate, there will be opportunities for increased hours and, when the time is right, consideration for transition into a permanent full-time position.
