As the Assistant Accountant & Payroll Officer, you'll play a key role in supporting payroll, finance, and reporting functions across the business.
Working closely with Finance, HR, and Operations teams, you'll help ensure payroll is processed accurately and on time while supporting financial administration, reconciliations, reporting, and compliance activities.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, thrives on accuracy, and takes pride in delivering high-quality payroll and finance support.
- Processing end-to-end payroll and maintaining employee payroll records
- Managing payroll changes, leave balances, terminations, and final pays
- Ensuring compliance with Awards, legislation, superannuation, and payroll obligations
- Responding to payroll-related enquiries
- Calculating and reconciling commission and incentive payments
- Processing supplier invoices and supporting accounts payable functions
- Monitoring accounts receivable and outstanding debtor balances
- Assisting with month-end reporting, reconciliations, and financial administration
- Supporting audit preparation, compliance activities, and statutory record keeping
- Maintaining payroll and finance systems and supporting process improvements
- Assisting with Employment Hero administration and system enhancements
You’re highly organised, detail-oriented, and passionate about accuracy. You enjoy working with numbers, systems, and processes, while also providing excellent support to internal stakeholders.
You’ll bring:

2-5 years' experience within payroll, accounting, or finance administration
- End-to-end payroll processing experience
- Strong knowledge of payroll legislation, Awards, and compliance requirements
- Intermediate Excel skills
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- The ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
- High levels of professionalism and confidentiality
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Employment Hero experience
- Xero experience
- Healthcare, dental, or multi-site business experience
- Experience managing commission-based payroll structures
