About the role
This role provides high-level executive and administrative support to the Director of Research and the broader department. You will play a central part in keeping the division running smoothly managing diaries, coordinating meetings, and ensuring senior staff are well-prepared and informed at all times. You will contribute to the preparation of strategic documents, briefing papers, reports and submissions, while also serving as a key point of contact for internal and external stakeholders. Your ability to exercise sound judgement, handle sensitive and confidential matters with discretion, and prioritise competing demands will be essential to your success in this role. Day-to-day, you will oversee administrative systems and operational procedures, manage records and databases in line with university governance requirements, and coordinate travel, procurement, and financial acquittals. You will also support a range of human resource functions, including casual contracts and recruitment coordination in partnership with People and Culture.
About you
To be successful in this role, you will have:

Proven experience providing high-level executive support to senior leaders in a complex and fast-paced environment, with the ability to anticipate needs, exercise sound judgement and manage competing priorities.

Exceptional organisational, time management and project coordination skills, enabling you to deliver high-quality outcomes while meeting competing deadlines.

Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to build strong working relationships and interact professionally with a diverse range of stakeholders.

Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion, professionalism and integrity.

Strong digital capability, including proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications and the ability to quickly learn new systems and technologies.

Experience interpreting and applying policies, procedures and governance requirements, with a strong commitment to accurate record-keeping and compliance.

The ability to work both independently and collaboratively, using initiative to solve problems and contribute positively to a high-performing team.

Relevant qualifications and/or equivalent experience that demonstrates your ability to succeed in a high-level executive support role.
