Bring your energy to Aggreko as Engineering Team Lead - Electrical based in Melbourne, Brisbane or Perth. You’ll provide expert leadership across project development, detailed design, construction, commissioning, and asset operation phases, ensuring electrical systems are safe, compliant, reliable, bankable, and optimised for long-term performance. The position plays a critical role in technical risk management, engineering assurance, grid compliance, and supporting investment confidence in long-term power generation assets.

What you’ll do as Engineering Team Lead - Electrical:
Provide Electrical Engineering leadership and governance as the lead authority across the IPP portfolio, managing standards and technical assurance frameworks, providing technical approval and ensuring alignment with relevant standards and lifecycle performance objectives
Provide expert electrical engineering input during project development, including concept design, reference design development, technology selection, grid connection strategy (where required), and project feasibility assessment
Support all phases of the project from FEED, detailed design, contractor tender evaluations, technical clarifications, contract negotiations, supplier assessment, procurement through to construction to commissioning, and handover activities
Provide technical leadership across HV, MV and LV systems, grid connection infrastructure, protection and control systems, substations and switchyards, SCADA and plant control systems, thermal generation systems, BESS, solar PV generation systems, wind generation interfaces and thermal generation assets
Asset Engineering and Operational Support including lead investigations, contribute to asset reliability, availability, maintainability, and performance improvement initiatives
People Leadership and Capability Development through providing day-to-day leadership and technical mentorship to our engineering colleagues and contractors to shape a high-performing environment built on collaboration
You are / have:
Tertiary qualified in Electrical Engineering.
Approx 12-15 years' experience in electrical engineering for large-scale infrastructure, power generation, transmission, or renewable energy assets
Experience leading a small engineering team, whilst maintaining hands on in design (this team will manage a small team of in-house engineers and consultants)
Experience across renewable / hybrid generation projects within an IPP, EPC, utility, owner's engineer, or developer environment
Thermal experience would be very highly regarded but is not esse
Demonstrated experience acting as a technical authority on complex power projects
Experience with grid connection processes and power system studies
Strong understanding of HV, MV, and LV electrical systems
In-depth knowledge of relevant Australian Standards, network requirements, and power industry practices
Strong stakeholder relationship management skills and the desire to develop your team through collaboration
