About the Role
As an Oral Health Therapist/Dental Hygienist at Harpley Dental, you will play an integral role in promoting oral health and preventive dentistry within our modern, purpose-built practice. You will work alongside our dentists and support team to deliver comprehensive, evidence-based care in a friendly and collaborative environment.
Our clinic is equipped with state-of-the-art dental technology, including a digital intraoral scanner and CBCT imaging, enabling you to provide efficient, high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive oral health assessments and preventive care.
- Perform routine scale and clean procedures, periodontal maintenance, and non-surgical periodontal therapy within your scope of practice.
- Deliver oral hygiene instruction and personalised preventive education to patients of all ages.
- Apply fluoride treatments, fissure sealants, and other preventive therapies.
- Assist in the diagnosis, prevention, and management of periodontal disease.
- Develop and maintain individualised preventive care plans.
- Maintain accurate clinical records and treatment documentation.
- Ensure compliance with AHPRA requirements, infection control standards, radiation safety regulations, and workplace health and safety policies.
- Work collaboratively with dentists, dental assistants, and reception staff to provide an outstanding patient experience.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and contribute to the continued growth of the practice.
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
- A recognised Bachelor of Oral Health, Bachelor of Oral Health in Dental Hygiene, or equivalent qualification recognised in Australia.
- Current registration with the Dental Board of Australia (AHPRA).
- Professional indemnity insurance.
- Current Working with Children Check.
- Current Victorian Radiation Use Licence (or eligibility to obtain one).
- A commitment to providing ethical, patient-centred care.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A friendly, professional, and compassionate manner.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- The ability to work independently while contributing positively to a collaborative team.
