Full Job Description

iCARE Youth and Community Services Pty Ltd is a dedicated NDIS (National Disability Insurance Scheme) registered provider, and a provider of residential placements for the Department of Children and Families in the Northern Territory (NT). Our core mission is to provide essential care and support services to individuals with disabilities, ensuring their well-being, independence, and inclusion in the community. Our service offerings encompass a wide range of NDIS-approved supports, including accommodation, therapy, and community access programs, tailored to meet the unique needs of each individual we serve.

Due to increased demand for our services, we have multiple positions available for this role in Alice Springs and the surrounding areas of Central Australia, NT.

Position Description

You will be assisting young people, individually or in groups, to solve social, emotional, and financial problems within an agency framework.

Duties:

Interview and assess individuals' needs, advise on entitlements and rights, and refer them to agencies and programs that can provide additional assistance
Assist young people to solve social, emotional and financial problems
Assists with youth access education programs and training to increase employability
Develop, deliver, and facilitate life skills, employability and wellbeing workshops with a group of participants.
Creating relationships with employers to secure work experience and employment opportunities for participants.
Provide therapeutic residential care for young people with significant trauma histories and high-risk behaviours
Organise and supervise social, recreational and educational activities in local youth groups to assist young people to fulfil their potential as individuals, and be actively involved in their local community
Provide support and respond to young people experiencing immediate issues, stress or crisis, such as lack of housing, mental health crises, and other health emergencies
Manage critical incidents, including absconding, self-harm risks, aggression, and crisis interventions within 24/7 residential settings.
Empower young people to achieve goals and steer their lives in a positive direction, and engage in meaningful opportunities to enable independent living
Deliver trauma-informed behavioural support using TCI principles, emotional regulation strategies, and individual therapeutic care plans.
Support culturally safe engagement and relationship-building with Aboriginal young people, families, kinship networks, and community stakeholders across remote NT regions
Assess community need and resources for health, welfare, housing, employment, training and other facilities and services
May monitor and report on the progress of individuals
Develop case plans and provide employment case management.
Refer clients to agencies that can provide additional help

Eligibility requirements:

To be eligible, the ideal candidate must have/be willing to obtain the following:

Relevant AQF diploma or higher obtained in Australia and one year of full-time work experience or relevant overseas qualification equivalent to an AQF diploma and 2 years of full-time work experience or three years of full-time work experience.

NDIS Worker Screening Check
First Aid Certificate
Availability to work across a 24/7 Roster to meet operational needs
NT Drivers' Licence
