We are seeking a passionate and adaptable Physiotherapist to join our growing multidisciplinary team delivering outreach and community-based services across remote communities in the Northern Territory.
Position Summary
The Physiotherapist will provide high-quality assessment, intervention, rehabilitation, mobility support, and capacity-building services to NDIS participants, older persons, and community members in remote and regional settings. The role requires strong cultural awareness, flexibility, and the ability to work independently while collaborating with families, support workers, allied health professionals, and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct physiotherapy assessments including mobility, balance, posture, strength, transfers, and functional capacity assessments
- Develop and implement individualised therapy plans aligned with participant goals and NDIS plans
- Deliver evidence-based physiotherapy interventions and exercise programs
- Provide falls prevention, pain management, mobility, and rehabilitation support
- Recommend and prescribe assistive technology and mobility equipment where appropriate
- Support participants with chronic conditions, disabilities, injuries, and age-related mobility concerns
- Deliver therapy services in homes, schools, community settings, and remote outreach locations
- Work collaboratively with Occupational Therapists, Support Coordinators, Behaviour Support Practitioners, Support Workers, and families
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation, progress notes, reports, and NDIS-related documentation
- Promote culturally safe and trauma-informed practice when engaging with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities
- Participate in case conferencing, multidisciplinary meetings, and service planning
- Assist with community education and wellbeing initiatives where required
Essential Criteria
- Bachelor’s degree or higher qualification in Physiotherapy
- Current AHPRA registration as a Physiotherapist
- Current National Police Check
- NDIS Worker Screening Clearance (or willingness to obtain)
- Current Working with Children Clearance/Ochre Card (or willingness to obtain)
- Current First Aid and CPR Certificate
- Current Australian Driver’s Licence
- Willingness and ability to travel to remote communities
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work autonomously and within multidisciplinary teams
Desirable Criteria
- Experience working within the NDIS sector
- Experience working in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities
- Knowledge of remote service delivery environments
- Experience with assistive technology, manual handling, and mobility equipment prescription
- Understanding of trauma-informed and culturally responsive practice
- Experience working with children, youth, disability, or aged care participants

Pay: $95,000.00 per year
Work Location: In person
