Sydney Domestic Appliance Centre is a well-established Australian-owned family business operating since 1997. Based in Bondi Junction, we provide professional repair and maintenance services for household appliances and whitegoods across Sydney, including the Eastern Suburbs, Inner West, Lower North Shore, and surrounding metropolitan areas.
Due to continued business growth, we are seeking a qualified and experienced Electronic Equipment Trades Technician to join our team.
About the Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, servicing, and maintaining a wide range of domestic appliances and electronic equipment. This is a hands-on technical role requiring strong fault-finding skills, attention to detail, and the ability to provide high-quality customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose faults in electronic and electrical household appliances using testing and diagnostic equipment.
- Repair, maintain, and service domestic appliances including refrigerators, freezers, washing machines, dryers, dishwashers, ovens, cooktops, rangehoods, and microwave ovens.
- Test, dismantle, repair, replace, and reassemble electrical and electronic components, circuits, wiring systems, motors, control boards, sensors, and related equipment.
- Install replacement parts and ensure equipment operates in accordance with manufacturer specifications.
- Conduct preventative maintenance inspections and recommend repair solutions.
- Interpret technical manuals, circuit diagrams, schematics, and manufacturer service documentation.
- Use electronic measuring instruments, multimeters, testing devices, and specialised repair equipment to identify faults.
- Prepare service reports and maintain accurate records of repairs, parts used, and work completed.
- Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety requirements and industry standards.
- Provide professional customer service during onsite and workshop service activities.
Skills and Experience
To be considered for this role, you should possess:
- Relevant qualification equivalent to an Australian Certificate III or higher in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Equipment Trades, Appliance Servicing, or a related field; or Overseas Equivalent
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in appliance repair, electronics servicing, or a related technical field.
- Strong knowledge of electronic systems, electrical components, control circuits, and fault diagnosis techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams and service manuals.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and customer service abilities.
- Current Australian Driver Licence.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Pay: $75,000.00 – $85,000.00 per year
