Join Our Team as a Disability Support Worker!

We are seeking a passionate, reliable and experienced Disability Support Worker to provide high-quality support to NDIS participants in the Port Melbourne, Kensington, South Yara areas. This role would suit a confident support worker who has experience working with NDIS participants and is comfortable providing hands-on support to clients with complex care needs.

Availability:

Shifts: Monday–Friday, 9:00 am–5:00 pm | Minimum 3 days per week

Key Responsibilities

Provide personal care, including toileting and showering assistance.
Assist with meal preparation, cooking and household tasks.
Support clients with community access and social engagement.
Provide safe manual handling and mobility support.
Assist with medication in accordance with the participant's support plan, relevant policies and your level of training and competency.
Follow individual support plans and provide person-centred care.
Support clients to maintain their independence, dignity and personal goals.

Essential Experience & Skills To be successful in this role, you will have:

Previous experience working as a Disability Support Worker with NDIS participants.
Confidence working independently in clients' homes.
Experience supporting clients with complex care needs, including MND and behaviours of concern.
Manual Handling training and hands-on experience.
Practical experience using manual handling equipment such as hoists and slide sheets.
Strong understanding of person-centred care.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
A reliable, compassionate and professional approach.

Compliance Requirements Successful applicants will need to meet all applicable employment and NDIS requirements, which may include:

NDIS Worker Screening Check, where required.
Current First Aid and CPR certification.
Relevant qualifications in Disability Support, Individual Support, Nursing or a related field are highly regarded.
Right to work in Australia.
A valid driver's licence, appropriate vehicle insurance and access to a reliable vehicle, where required for the role.
