About the role
Are you ready to contribute to delivering exceptional medical imaging services in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment? As a Consultant Radiologist with SAMI, you will play a pivotal role in providing high-quality imaging services, including advanced modalities such as MRI, to support patient care at SAMI RHP. You will work closely with clinicians and healthcare teams to ensure safe, effective, and efficient care, while actively participating in quality improvement initiatives. This role also involves contributing to clinico-radiology and multidisciplinary team meetings, representing SAMI at campus discussions, and fostering team collaboration to enhance diagnostic accuracy.
In addition to your clinical responsibilities, you will provide professional leadership and mentor the next generation of radiologists by supervising trainees, staff, and medical students. This position offers an opportunity to balance clinical excellence with teaching and research within a dynamic and supportive environment. Flexibility is key, as you may occasionally provide imaging services across other SAMI locations. About you
You are a highly skilled and committed Medical Imaging Specialist, passionate about providing exceptional patient care and supporting a collaborative clinical team.
Holds an MBBS or equivalent, with specialist registration and RANZCR qualification in Clinical Radiology.
Demonstrates excellence in clinical practice across multiple imaging modalities, including MRI, and a strong commitment to ongoing professional development.
Exceptional communicator and mentor, able to lead, teach, and collaborate effectively with colleagues, trainees, patients, and carers.
Committed to high standards in patient care, clinical governance, safety, ethical conduct, and quality improvement initiatives.

Statewide Clinical Support Services (SCSS) is a unique public healthcare organisation that serves health consumers and provides specialist clinical services to the health system in South Australia. SCSS encompasses BreastScreen SA, SA Dental, SA Medical Imaging, SA Pathology, and SA Pharmacy.
South Australia Medical Imaging (SAMI) is the largest public imaging provider in Australia! With a full range of diagnostic, therapeutic and interventional imaging services provided by a multidisciplinary team, SA Medical Imaging provides care to public and private inpatients, outpatients and emergency department patients.
The RHP has undergone significant redevelopment and refurbishment to turn the site into a thriving health precinct, providing a range of health and wellbeing services. The precinct is now open to the community with a town square, cafés and a playground established for patients, families, and the community to utilise.
The medical imaging department is also growing – with building under way as part of a service expansion that includes three more Ultrasound rooms, a new 3T MRI and new Photon-Counting CT. Work is expected to be completed around November 2026.
