About the Role
As the Assistant Night Manager, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Night Manager to ensure the efficient operation of the hotel during the overnight shift. You will lead the Front Office team by example, ensuring exceptional guest service is delivered while maintaining the safety, security and operational integrity of the hotel.
Acting as one of the hotel's senior leaders overnight, you will be responsible for making operational decisions, resolving guest concerns, coordinating emergency responses where required, and ensuring all overnight procedures are completed accurately and in accordance with Stamford Hotels & Resorts' policies and standards.
You will oversee the completion of the night audit process, monitor hotel occupancy, room allocations and guest arrivals, and work collaboratively with all departments to ensure a seamless transition between the evening and morning operations. This role requires a confident leader who can remain calm under pressure, effectively manage competing priorities, and deliver exceptional guest experiences while supporting and developing the overnight team.

Key Responsibilities
Support the Night Manager in the leadership and day-to-day management of the hotel's overnight operations.
Lead, coach and motivate the overnight Front Office team, ensuring high levels of engagement, accountability and service excellence.
Deliver exceptional guest service by proactively responding to guest requests, resolving complaints and recovering service issues in a professional and timely manner.
Complete and review the Night Audit process, ensuring all financial transactions, reports and reconciliations are accurate and finalised within required timeframes.
Monitor hotel occupancy, room inventory and guest arrivals to maximise operational efficiency and guest satisfaction.
Conduct guest check-ins and check-outs while ensuring all guest accounts and billing are processed accurately.
Maintain a visible management presence throughout the hotel and provide leadership during the overnight shift.
Ensure the safety and security of guests, employees and hotel assets by responding appropriately to emergencies, alarms and security incidents.
Liaise closely with the Engineering, Housekeeping, Food & Beverage and Security teams to coordinate overnight operations and resolve operational issues.
Assist in managing VIP arrivals, group arrivals, special requests and late night guest enquiries.
Ensure compliance with Stamford Hotels & Resorts' policies, procedures, brand standards and relevant legislative requirements.
Support the training, coaching and development of Front Office employees, providing guidance and feedback to encourage continuous improvement.
Prepare accurate shift reports, incident reports and management handover notes to ensure effective communication between shifts.
Assist in monitoring departmental standards, productivity and guest satisfaction, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
Undertake Duty Manager responsibilities in the absence of the Night Manager when required.
Foster a positive, collaborative and professional team culture while maintaining the highest standards of presentation and service..
About you
To be successful in this role you will possess:
Previous experience in a Front Office leadership role within a hotel environment, such as Front Office Supervisor, Duty Manager or Night Auditor.
Experience using Opera PMS or a similar Property Management System.
Strong leadership and people management skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
