Job Title – Quantity Surveyor

Job Location: This role is based at Osborne Naval Shipyard, Adelaide

Role Description:

You will be responsible for assessing supplier claims, calculating quantities of labour, materials and durations and supporting assessment of non-conformance. In addition to this, you will support initial tendering, contract management and supplier disputes working with the contract managers to deliver to cost, schedule, quality and safety requirements of the business, which, through effective relationship and performance management, maximise value and minimise risk.

Core Duties:

Maximise the commercial benefit of all subcontracts and effective management of contract changes in accordance with relevant contract terms and associated pricing options and / or best practice.
Assist the Senior Quantity Surveyor in the Management of subcontractors accounts accurately and effectively to enhance contract performance.
Monitor subcontractor forecasts of cost and value of all trades including Preliminaries, and report on same to ensure efficient delivery of the subcontract and Programme.
Establish and agree contractual programme, forecasting and reporting project commercial performance.

About You:

Australian Citizen, eligible to obtain and maintain a defence security clearance (Essential).
Demonstrated Quantity Surveying experience within a relevant sector.
Experience in Delivery of services/ construction contracts, detailed understanding of optimal contracting and pricing routes.
Previous experience in a similar role.
Excellent communication skills at all levels
Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or Commercial discipline – desirable.
Membership of a professional institution RICS/ MCIPS (or working towards) – desirable.
