Production Manager – Prove Patisserie
Prove Patisserie (“Prove”) is a patisserie and artisan bakery located on Magill Rd, Stepney in Adelaide. Our products are prepared and baked on the premises, and supplied to the wholesale and retail markets of Adelaide.

We are looking for an experienced Production Manager to lead our production team, foster our values (Quality. Excellence. Service. Sustainability) and help shape the future of our business.
The Role
The Production Manager assures delivery of the day-to-day operations of our kitchen and production team. These operations are defined by their safety, quality, hygiene and efficiencies across all products. The role brings a passion for the industry and inspires the development of innovative and appealing products. The role fosters a values-based culture where team members feel engaged, respected and energised.
Reports to: Prove Business Partner/Executive Pastry Chef
Direct reports: Pastry Supervisor, Bread Supervisor
Coordinates with: Operations /Retail Manager
Responsibilities
- Lead (inspire and manage) the production team of some 15 people across the bakery and patisserie
- Lead by example by modelling our values
- Plan and manage production schedules to meet demand
- Oversee daily production to ensure quality, consistency, and efficiency
- Approximately 50% of the time leading by example and performing production
- Uphold food safety, hygiene, and compliance standards
- Manage stock, ordering, and supplier relationships
- Maintain and improve systems, processes, and workflows
- Train, mentor and support team members
- Work closely with the Business Owners and Marketing Manager to drive growth and innovation
- Available and ability to monitor phone after hours as a contact for staff personal emergencies
About You
You need to be able to convince us that you ….
- Have a passion for things food and bakery
- Hold a certificate 3 or above in Patisserie, bakery or cookery, or equivalent
- Knowledge in both pastry and bread ideally (or at least 1)
- Must have appropriate citizenship, residency or visa (Unrestricted working hours)
- Have relevant experience in a senior production or kitchen leadership role managing a team greater than 10
- Experience in large-scale or high-volume production
- Are a natural leader, with good emotional intelligence (self-awareness and empathy), respect for team members and capable of adapting how you lead dependant on who you are leading
- Have the ability to hold oneself and others accountable
- Have production planning, organisational and time management skills
- Demonstrates exceptional attention to detail and a strong commitment to quality, recognising that no task is too small or unimportant for any team member.
- Have situational awareness: an ability to monitor the food production environment, recognise problems and proactively develop solutions
- Will derive satisfaction through your team members’ success
