Full Job Description

ORGANISATIONAL ENVIRONMENT

Established in 2014, Samsung SDS Global SCL Australia (SDSAU), is a trusted provider of integrated logistics and supply chain services. As a key part of the Samsung SDS global network, SDSAU applies leading-edge technology and deep industry expertise to deliver agile, data-driven solutions across warehousing, transportation, freight forwarding, and inventory management. Our proprietary “Cello” platform enables full supply chain visibility and operational excellence.

POSITION PURPOSE

The Import/Export Officer (Ocean) is responsible for the efficient and timely coordination of daily ocean import operations. This role oversees end-to-end shipment tracking from origin departure to final receipt, ensuring accurate system updates and smooth cargo flow.

By maintaining clear communication with carriers, terminals, customs brokers, and internal teams, the role supports warehouse volume planning and assists outbound logistics with priority receiving requests.

ACCOUNTABILITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Tracks and updates shipment ETA and status from origin port through to final receipt in daily reports.
Organizes documentation and payment coordination with shipping lines, customs brokers, and carriers to ensure smooth delivery.
Arranges customs inspections as required and follows up on clearance progress.
Monitors inbound delivery status and GR system updates to ensure timely and accurate processing.
Coordinates GR planning activities with relevant stakeholders to meet KPI timelines.
Updates Cello FIS system for spare parts and finished goods to maintain inventory accuracy.
Manages detention/demurrage (DET/DEM) tracking and prepares monthly reports for RHQ.
Obtains quotations and arranges overtime or export shipments upon request from SEAU.
Conducts monthly reviews of customs performance and identifies areas for improvement.
Contributes to general import administration, including documentation and stakeholder coordination.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

1. Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

2. Demonstrated understanding of logistics and supply chain operations, with practical experience in import/export coordination

3. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

4. Effective communicator with experience collaborating across cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.

5. Professional and reliable, with a strong commitment to punctuality and meeting deadlines.

6. Demonstrates high levels of accountability, initiative, and self-motivation.

7. Skilled in report writing and data presentation, particularly using Excel and Outlook.

8. Experience in freight forwarding or transport coordination (desirable).

9. Working knowledge of import and export processes (desirable).

Mandatory Requirement:

Australian working rights required
Candidates must be located in NSW, as this is an in-person role.

Pay: $65,000.00 – $80,000.00 per year
