About the role:
We are in the early stages of developing a new gold processing facility and associated infrastructure at our site near Laverton, WA. We are seeking an experienced Operational Readiness Mechanical Engineer to join our team on an 8/6 roster/hybrid in the office when required, This role will ensure the long-term asset integrity of the plant within the operational readiness phase, by preventing premature failures during the ramp up phase and safeguarding the site-based team has the tools and data to fix equipment quickly.
Key responsibilities-
- Tactical Development: Develop maintenance strategies and FMECA (Failure Modes, Effects, and Criticality Analysis) for critical mechanical assets like primary crushers, gyratory screens, and leach tank agitators.
- CMMS Integration: Support the build of mechanical asset hierarchy and preventative maintenance (PM) schedules and Bills of Materials (BOMs) for loading into the CMMS.
- Lubrication Management: Establish a site wide Lubrication Schedule and contamination control standards for all rotating equipment.
- First Fill & Insurance Spares: Identify and procure critical insurance spares (e.g., mill pinion bearings, spare pump wet-ends, and conveyor gearboxes).
- As Built Documentation: Review and verify all mechanical data sheets, structural certifications, and pressure vessel registrations.
- Commissioning Support: Support operational readiness activities during Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and site commissioning to ensure maintainability.
About you:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
- Experienced in mineral processing, ideally with experience in Large-Scale Grinding Circuits and slurry handling.
- Proficiency in ISO 55001 Asset Management and root cause analysis (RCA) methodologies.
