About the Role

As a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Occupational Hygiene/Health and Safety you will contribute to innovative teaching and research while working collaboratively with academic, industry and community partners to deliver impactful projects and contemporary, accredited programs. You will also play a key role in building sector partnerships and fostering collaboration across the University.

The role includes teaching and coordinating undergraduate and postgraduate subjects, using a student-centred, evidence-based approach that incorporates flexible delivery, e-learning, and inclusive practices.

About the Team

The Faculty of Science, Medicine and Health (SMAH) comprises of the Schools of Medical, Indigenous and Health Sciences; Science; Nursing; Psychology; and the Graduate School of Medicine. With such a diverse science and health focus, SMAH is positioned to be a major force in connected and science-embedded education and translational science, medical and health research in Australia. Empowered by first-class teaching, driven by active research, and committed to advancing equity, diversity and reconciliation, this Faculty combines the very best of science, with strong capacity for translation to our global communities’ needs and aspirations.

The School of Medical, Indigenous and Health Sciences (MIHS) includes disciplines of Occupational Health & Safety; Medial Sciences, Nutrition Science and Dietetics; Indigenous Health; Public Health; and Exercise, Sport and Rehabilitation Sciences. The School currently offers externally accredited programs in Occupational Health and Safety, and Occupational Hygiene; Dietetics, Clinical Exercise Physiology, Exercise Science, as well as non-accredited programs in Medical and Health Sciences, Pre-Medicine, Nutrition Sciences, Public Health and Indigenous Health.

What You’ll Bring

You are suitably qualified, motivated and collaborative with a strong foundation in occupational health and safety. You bring experience delivering high-quality, innovative teaching in tertiary or professional settings, supported by a solid understanding of OHS, including occupational hygiene. A strong commitment to integrating research, teaching and work-integrated learning underpins your approach to education. With excellent interpersonal skills, you build and maintain effective relationships with colleagues and a broad range of stakeholders, including industry, government and community partners. Professional certification (e.g. COH or CSP) and established industry networks will be highly regarded, along with your ability to develop new collaborations and contribute to the ongoing growth of the discipline.

Role Details

Permanent/Continuing, full-time appointment
Lecturer (Level B): $122,478 - $141,446 + 17% Superannuation OR
Senior Lecturer (Level C): $148,771 - $167,785 + 17% Superannuation
The successful candidate will be appointed at Lecturer (Level B) or Senior Lecturer (Level C) commensurate with qualifications and experience.
