Full Job Description

Are you looking to grow your career? The Drouin Family Hotel is currently recruiting for an enthusiastic and passionate trade qualified Chef to complete our team.

The Position:

You are energetic, organised, and self-motivated with strong leadership qualities. In this role it will be your responsibility to ensure quality and consistency are maintained across the board. This position offers a great opportunity for growth and career progression all packaged within an excellent company culture.

We pride ourselves on quality food, beverage, and customer service and are looking for an outstanding Chef who has extensive experience in a variety of food operations. This is a full time, 38 hour per week role.

Key duties:

Ensuring food preparation, cooking and presentation is of a high standard at all times.

Prepare and cook foods of all types for either regular menu items, special requests, or allergen requests for the bistro and functions.
Assist in menu development and planning.
Assist cooks and other workers in the preparation cooking garnishing and presentation.
Demonstrate, implement, and maintain effective cost control strategies.
Develop and maintain appropriate relationships with relevant regulatory authorities.
Ensure HACCP and OHS compliance and maintain correct food safety procedures.
Work independently and as part of a team to achieve specified objectives as determined by both venue and group stakeholders.

The Person:

Reporting to the Head Chef and Venue Manager you will be able to work a rotating roster over 5 days including lunch and dinner.

You must be passionate about food and able to lead by example, with drive, enthusiasm, and attention to detail.
You will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be able to motivate and develop staff, and be adept at maintaining a positive team environment.
You must have the ability to work under pressure.
You will have successfully completed Cert IV in Commercial Cookery.
