About the team
The Pauline Gandel Womens Imaging Centre comprises the Department of Radiology and the Department of Obstetric and Gynaecological Ultrasound. The Centre oversees the provision of high-level complex, primary through quaternary care to both inpatients and outpatients (women, fetuses and newborns). There are strong relationships between the Centre and imaging services across the precinct, and with other centres for women’s and neonates’ health. Our fellows have access to training in fetal medicine clinics, genetics, and a diverse range of multidisciplinary meetings and educational seminars.
Ultrasounds performed at the Women’s include scans performed at all stages of pregnancy on high risk and vulnerable women. We have a dedicated service provision for fetal anomalies, fetal echocardiograms, multiple pregnancy and early pregnancy complications. We provide gynaecological ultrasound for a broad range of clinical indications, and dedicated assessment of deep infiltrating endometriosis. In addition we work closely with the teams looking after these women.
The Unit is accredited with RANZCOG for subspecialty training in Obstetric & Gynaecological Ultrasound (COGU).
About the role
In this advanced training position you will perform obstetric and gynaecological ultrasounds and write preliminary reports with the supervision of a consultant. The complexity of the ultrasounds performed and the addition of procedures will be determined by your skill level and training requirements and accreditation.
You will participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and activities, and communicate effectively with other team members.
Advocacy for patients and participation in department research and in quality assurance activities are examples of other important aspects of this role.
You will participate in educational sessions, including conducting teaching sessions and presentations suitable for your level of training and experience.
About you
- Significant experience in obstetrics and gynaecology and hold MRANZCOG or FRANZCOG or equivalent.
- Professional and clinical leadership and participation.
- Experience providing supervision to staff or students.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including written and verbal skills.
- Capacity to foster good relationships with a Positive "can do" attitude.
