AUSCO Truck Bodies is currently seeking an experienced and trade qualified First Class Welder to join our growing fabrication and manufacturing team. This is a full-time position based in Victoria, working within a commercial workshop environment focused on high-quality fabrication, structural steel and metalwork on truck body assembly and production.
We are looking for a motivated and reliable individual who takes pride in workmanship, safety and attention to detail and is ready for an immediate start.
Key Responsibilities
- Interpret and work from technical drawings, blueprints and welding specifications
- Perform MIG, TIG and arc welding on a variety of steel and metal components
- Fabricate, assemble and repair structural steel and metal products
- Carry out cutting, grinding, shaping and fitting of fabricated components
- Conduct quality checks to ensure finished products meet required specifications
- Operate welding and fabrication equipment safely and efficiently
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment
- Work collaboratively with workshop supervisors and production staff to meet deadlines
Skills & Experience
- Relevant trade qualification in Welding / Fabrication or equivalent
- Minimum 2 years relevant post-qualification experience as a Welder
- Strong knowledge of welding techniques, fabrication methods and workshop safety
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and plans
- Experience working with structural steel and heavy fabrication preferred
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Reliable, punctual and able to work effectively within a team
