About the Position

We are excited to welcome a part-time [0.5FTE] Early Education Program Assistant to our Townsville Early Education Program team! In this role, you’ll help create a safe, playful, and trauma-informed environment where children aged 3–5 can grow emotionally, socially, and developmentally. Working alongside a teacher and allied health professionals, you’ll play a hands-on role in helping children and families feel supported, connected, and ready for the transition to school.

Level 3 SCHCADS Award.

Salary range: $76,377 - $81,907 (pro-rata) + Superannuation.

Part-time [0.5FTE], maximum term contract opportunity until 31 December 2026.

Key Responsibilities:

Contribute to a nurturing, play-based learning environment by delivering the Early Years Learning Framework to a small group of children aged 3–5.

Foster a calm, supportive space where children feel safe, confident, and ready to explore through a play-based, trauma-informed approach.

Build warm, trusting relationships with families, walking alongside them to strengthen their children’s social, emotional and developmental foundations.

Partner closely with teachers, assistants, and allied health professionals to provide holistic, coordinated support that meets each child’s unique needs.

About You

Certificate III or above in Early Childhood, Education Support, Community Services, or similar vocational qualification.

At least two (2) years’ experience supporting children to engage in early learning environments, with a strong understanding of EYLF and play based learning in the early years.

Eligibility to work in Australia (proof of eligibility required), including holding or obtaining required checks (Working with Children Check or professional exemption).

Current driver’s licence.
