We are seeking to develop a Project Technician to join our projects team, based out of Hobart, Tasmania. Whether you are just starting out in your BMS or Security in Building Technologies career, or have been established for many years, this role will provide a fantastic opportunity to explore your potential and develop your career working in a close-knit and experienced team, helping to deliver Honeywell automation projects across Tasmania.
As a Project Technician, you are responsible for assisting the Project Manager in the delivery of BMS & Security projects for the team. You will be responsible for control systems field commissioning and documentation for various BMS and security projects, along with PLC software development and engineering.
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpretation of customer briefs and consultant specifications
- Control system design and documentation
- PLC software and graphics development and system commissioning
- Sales Assistance, involving innovative use of latest technology in establishing system design, and providing project estimates
- Prepare submittals per engineering standards, ensuring commitment dates are met. Review submittals with sales and delivery teams and lead team to obtain submittal approval
Perform bench testing if required and complete field commissioning packages

Key Experience & Capabilities:
- Electrical Trade Certificate
- Prior experience in BMS/HVAC and/or Security systems is preferred
- Electrical experience is required
- Intermediate to advanced computer skills desirable
- Involvement in the commissioning of computer-based controls and security systems – preferred
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Self-starting, able to work with a minimum of supervision
Has full driving license and ability to travel when required
