About Us

Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District (NBMLHD) is an exceptional environment to advance your career while enhancing your skills and expertise. The Primary Care and Community Health Unit consists of 9 centres that provide a range of services for children, young people and their families, adults, older people and their carers. Our services range from health promotion, prevention and early detection through to assessment, treatment and continuing care. Our staff work in partnership with schools, GPs, hospitals, non-government agencies and other organisations to provide care across our centres, in people’s homes, other community venues as well as virtual care (telehealth)

We are seeking a highly motivated and analytical Business Analyst to join our Primary Care Community Health (PCCH) team in a part time permanent capacity. This pivotal role is responsible for the design, development, and ongoing maintenance of PCCH reporting that supports informed decision making and effective monitoring of service deliverables. The successful candidate will provide leadership in managing and maintaining data integrity, ensuring the delivery of timely and accurate reports, and coordinating the dissemination of statistical data across the service.

In this role, you will take ownership of the design, monitoring, analysis, and implementation of service-wide dashboards that enable both strategic and operational management of programs and projects within PCCH. You will play a key role in translating complex data into meaningful insights that support service planning, performance tracking, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Working closely with stakeholders across the service, you will assist in monitoring and analysing data to ensure alignment with the goals and timelines outlined in the PCCH business plan. You will contribute to fostering a culture of service excellence, safety, continuous quality improvement, and adherence to best practice standards across the organisation. This position requires the ability to build and maintain strong collaborative relationships with staff, clinicians, and consumers. You will lead and facilitate discussions around clinical informatics, ensuring that data-driven approaches are embedded into service delivery and improvement activities.

What you will bring to the role

Tertiary qualifications in a health related discipline and/or demonstrated relevant experience in health data management, analysis, and reporting.
Demonstrated ability to plan, manage, and deliver projects from design through to monitoring and evaluation, including effective consultation with stakeholders.
High level written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to author reports, present findings, and manage competing priorities within required timeframes.
Demonstrated experience analysing and presenting information using data visualisation and reporting tools, including advanced use of Microsoft Excel, Power BI, and health or organisational information systems.
Sound knowledge and practical application of qualitative and quantitative evaluation methodologies to monitor performance, quality, and system improvement, and to inform decision making.
Strong leadership capability, demonstrating initiative, self direction, motivation, and a high level of computer proficiency across standard office applications and clinical or health databases.
