Chef – Full Time

Fasta Pasta Blakes Crossing is seeking a talented and passionate Chef to join our dedicated team. We are committed to delivering high-quality Italian-inspired cuisine and exceptional customer service in a welcoming family-friendly environment. We take pride in preparing fresh, flavourful meals using quality ingredients and authentic recipes. Our menu features a diverse range of traditional and contemporary pasta dishes, pizzas, mains, and desserts, offering something for every guest to enjoy.

Position: Chef (Full-Time)
Location: Blakesview, SA 5114
Salary: $80,000 per annum plus Superannuation

Qualifications and Experience Required

Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent, with 2–3 years’ experience as a Chef
Proven experience working in a dynamic, high-performing kitchen environment
Sound knowledge of Food Safety legislation and compliance requirements
Strong ability to multitask and work efficiently under pressure
A genuine passion for the hospitality industry
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team

Tasks and Responsibilities

Plan and determine food and labor costs in line with customer demand, restaurant budgets, and commercial requirements
Prepare and cook a diverse range of dishes with consistency, quality, and precision
Ensure food quality at all stages of preparation and presentation, with attention to plating, garnishing, and visual appeal
Deliver prepared food efficiently, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of orders
Make independent decisions to manage kitchen operations and resolve issues effectively
Supervise, train, and manage kitchen staff, including creating cost-effective rosters
Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle challenges promptly
Maintain a positive, professional, and enthusiastic attitude in a fast-paced environment
Ensure strict compliance with hygiene standards, safe food handling, and workplace health and safety procedures
Collaborate closely with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth and seamless service
Monitor the cooking process to ensure dishes meet dietary and special customer requirements
Regularly monitor, analyze, and adjust kitchen performance metrics, including meals, wages, and food costs, and prepare reports when required
Manage inventory by monitoring stock levels, completing stock sheets, and ordering supplies as necessary
