About the Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Retail Pharmacist with strong leadership capabilities to help drive the continued success of our busy community pharmacy in the heart of Surfers Paradise.
This position offers the opportunity to combine clinical excellence with retail and team leadership responsibilities, working alongside a supportive and experienced team in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver outstanding professional pharmacy services and patient care
- Lead, mentor, and support pharmacy assistants, dispensary staff, and interns
- Assist with day-to-day pharmacy operations and workflow management
- Drive customer service excellence and community engagement initiatives
- Manage stock control, merchandising, and inventory processes
- Support achievement of business objectives and key performance indicators
- Ensure compliance with all pharmacy regulations and professional standards
- Foster a positive, collaborative, and high-performing workplace culture
Other tasks include:
· Ensuring optimal dosage, administration and drug compatibility before dispensing
· Advising prescribers on drug incompatibility and contra-indications
· Reviewing and monitoring the medicine therapy of individual patients
· Supervising and coordinating of Pharmacy Technicians, pharmacy interns and Pharmacy Sales Assistants
· Educating customers on health promotion, disease prevention and the proper use of medicines
About You
To be successful in this role, we are looking for:
- A degree in pharmacy
- Eligibility to apply for AHPRA registration
- Previous at least 12 months of experience in a community pharmacy setting
- Demonstrated leadership or pharmacy management experience
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities
- A customer-focused approach with a commitment to patient outcomes
- Experience with pharmacy dispensing software and retail operations
- Vaccination accreditation and additional professional services experience highly regarded
