Job description:
We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Deputy Infrastructure Service Manager to lead the implementation of critical mining project infrastructure at the Saramacca and Rosebel sites.
In this role, you will oversee the construction and delivery of project infrastructure, including haul roads, process plant modifications, camps, offices, workshops, and other support facilities. Working closely with the Construction Superintendent – Mine, you will ensure that project objectives, technical requirements, and design criteria are achieved safely, efficiently, and within established timelines. The position requires strong project management, coordination, and stakeholder engagement skills to support the successful execution of mining infrastructure projects.
Your key responsibilities will include:

Implements Health Safety and Sustainability (HS&S) practices for the construction project.

Ensure emergency response and first aid is in place and functional.

Endure incident reporting and site induction is indoctrinated over the entire site.

Develops and implement HS&S procedures including equipment inspections, site and workplace inspections, lock out tagout, excavation, lifting and hot work permits.

Respect and enforce policies related to Health and Safety and the Environment.

Ensure the deployment of MBA at the onset of the project.

Ensures Engineering for the project respects constructability, functionality and scope required by the client.

Participates in the coordination meetings, design reviews, work package development.

Manage engineering documentation on construction site to ensure that for construction documents are used and as built drawings are produced after executing work and are transferred to the operations.

Ensure that modifications and changes in the design are marked up with management of change in place.

Request trade off and justification of changes from engineering and estimators as required. This is especially the case when items can augment the capital cost but have efficiencies in operating and maintenance costs.

Manage all contracts with vendors let out during construction.

Manage request for tender process

Ensure supply chain in order that equipment and material arrive according to the needs of project.

Manage and maintain relationships with vendors and contractors during procurement, construction and commissioning phases of the project.
The ideal candidate will have:

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Mining Engineering, Construction Management or a related field.

Professional certification in Project Management (PMP or equivalent) is an advantage.

Minimum of 8–10 years of experience in infrastructure, construction, mining, or industrial projects.

Familiarity with engineering drawings, technical specifications, and infrastructure design standards.

Understanding of mining infrastructure development, including haul roads, support facilities, and process plant-related works.

Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

Strong commitment to health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.

Willingness to work in Brokopondo on a rotational schedule of 14 days on, 7 days off.

Must be able to obtain and provide a valid Certificate of Good Conduct (Bewijs van Goed Gedrag) upon selection.
