As a Senior Highways Engineer, you will contribute to the delivery of diverse road and infrastructure projects, from early feasibility through to design, construction, and maintenance. You will play a key role in providing technical design and consulting services across major highway projects, applying expertise in road and pavement design. Working within a dynamic team, you will support projects across a wide range of environments, from urban networks to international developments.
The Opportunity
- Lead small to medium-sized projects and contribute to larger multidisciplinary teams, delivering design, analysis, modelling, and technical documentation.
- Provide technical expertise in road design, pavement design, stormwater drainage, and water-sensitive road solutions.
- Prepare reports, cost estimates, tender submissions, and project schedules while ensuring deadlines and budgets are met.
- Review and ensure the quality and accuracy of project deliverables, while mentoring and supporting junior team members.
- Engage with clients, contractors, and government agencies, representing your team in meetings and contributing to business activities.

Is this role right for you?
- A degree in Civil Engineering and progress toward (or attainment of) Chartered status with Engineers Australia or equivalent.
- Proven experience in highways design with strong knowledge of Austroads guidelines, MRWA standards, and relevant regulations.
- Strong technical capability in road and pavement design, with an understanding of project approvals and development processes.
- Excellent organisational, planning, and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Clear and effective communication skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at both technical and strategic levels.
