Full Job Description

Are you a passionate barista with a love for great coffee and exceptional service? Byng Street Local Store is seeking an experienced full-time Barista to join our vibrant team! Located in the heart of Orange, we’re known for our welcoming atmosphere, high-quality Allpress coffee, and dedication to creating memorable experiences for our customers. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment, have a flair for crafting the perfect cup, and value being part of a friendly and dynamic team, we’d love to hear from you!

DUTIES

The duties you will be expected to complete in this position include but are not limited to:

· Provide a customer-focused approach to service ensuring repeat business.

· Ensure a high level of machine presentation.

· Ensure beverages are prepared in a timely manner.

· Ensure appealing presentation of beverages.

· Efficiently prepare and serve hot and cold beverages ensuring consistently high quality.

· Maintain coffee knowledge on current blend and confidently and accurately communicate product information with customers.

· Calibrate and adjust grinders to achieve optimal grind size for various brewing methods.

· Conduct systematic dialling-in procedures to fine-tune grind settings for different coffee beans and roasts.

· Ensure compliance with food handling and sanitation standards.

· Adhere to training and service standards policies and procedures.

· Adhere to cash handling and end-of-day policies and procedures.

· Processing of sales and cash handling with less than 5% handling errors.

· Ensure effective communication with kitchen staff providing assistance with wash-up duties when required.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

· Barista: 3 years (Required)

· Customer service: 2 years (Required)

· Food handling: 1 year (Preferred)

· Current RSA or willingness to obtain
