About the role
In this role, you will support the delivery of building services across permit assessments, statutory compliance and customer enquiries, while developing your professional administration skills. Working alongside a dedicated team you will ensure that a diverse range of technical and administrative functions are delivered in a timely, efficient and accurate manger, whilst maintaining the highest level of customer service and experience.

Work type: Permanent, Full-time opportunity
Classification: Band 5 $81,005.86 pa plus super

Key responsibilities include:

Coordination and management of the Council Pool and Spa Register including regular mailout of documentation.
Preparation and submission of regular reporting such as monthly building activity data for the Building and Plumbing Commission, and Private Building Surveyor lodgements.
Evaluation of Freedom of Information requests and provision of documentation when required.
Data integrity checking and program of corrections.
Monitoring current trends and development of web materials to assist in providing proactive customer service.
Creation and maintenance of work instructions and correspondence across the building unit.
Participation in ongoing continuous improvement program for a range of key outcomes.

About you
To be successful in this role, you will have a genuine interest in the building industry and a desire to develop your career in a supportive local government environment. You will enjoy working with people, solving problems and delivering positive outcomes for customers and the community.

Essential Experience:

Relevant qualifications and / or experience in office administration
Well-developed people skills to support, influence, and collaborate with relevant stakeholders.
Ability for critical and analytical thinking and ability to proactively solve problems
Adaptable to innovation and improvements with an awareness of change management
Strong stakeholder management skills, and ability to work with diverse stakeholders to achieve task outcomes.
Proficient in standard desktop applications, business systems and audio-visual technologies to support efficient work practices.

Preferred candidates will be required to undergo a National Police Check as part of the recruitment process (funded by the City).
