Primary objective
Provide leadership, management, direction, and advice for the coordination of contemporary OneNTG corporate learning and
development programs that are aligned with whole-of-government workforce strategies and priorities.
Context statement
The Workforce Development team in the Department of Corporate and Digital Development Corporate Services division delivers
strategic workforce initiatives. This role is in the Workforce Capability branch and focuses on leading a small operational team to
coordinate and continuously improve OneNTG corporate learning and development programs to Northern Territory Government
agencies to achieve improved workforce capability outcomes.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Lead, manage and coach the Corporate Learning and Development team to coordinate the operational delivery of OneNTG
corporate learning and development programs.
2. Provide expert advice on OneNTG corporate learning and development activities and initiatives to drive continuous
improvement.
3. Co-design adaptive business solutions that respond effectively to changing priorities and circumstances to build workforce
capability.
4. Research, analyse, prepare high level, and complex reports, briefs and submissions for executives and agencies.
5. Develop and implement innovative programs to improve sector wide workforce capability in response to NTG strategic
frameworks and initiatives .
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Demonstrated leadership and management skills to build and sustain positive relationships with team members and
stakeholders using a client-centric approach.
2. Demonstrated experience in managing corporate learning and development functions, including procurement and contract
management, budget and resource allocation, and program evaluation.
3. High level communication skills, with proven ability to provide advice, problem solve, negotiate, and deliver, and produce quality
reports/on complex issues to stakeholders, presentations for a wide range of audiences.
4. Proven capability to multi-task, manage competing priorities, achieve results, and meet timeframes.
5. Proven experience using learning management systems to assist clients, monitor programs and undertake reporting activities.
6. Demonstrated work ethic and attitude which emulates DCDD values of commitment to service, innovation, ethical practice,
accountability, impartiality, diversity, and respect.
Desirable
1. Relevant tertiary qualifications in project management, change management, organisational development, human resource
management, or other related fields.
