PROJECT ENGINEER
Project
· Understand the project scope and assist the Project Manager with the preparation of time and cost effective construction methodologies.
· Assist the Site Supervisor in the organisation of labour and equipment.
· Order materials and services in a timely manner.
· Procure materials and services suppliers, or attain approval for a new supplier, as per company procedure.
· Assist the Project Manager to monitor the coordination of site activities by the Site Supervisor.
· Assist the Project Manager to review the daily site diary.
· Assist the Project Manager to ensure that the construction program is adhered to and updated weekly.
· Assist the Project Manager to liaise with the client’s representative to resolve technical, commercial and scheduling issues.
· Attend weekly site meetings.
· Assist the Project Manager to review and approve subcontract and supplier invoices and claims.
· Assist the Project Manager to prepare weekly and monthly project reports as required by the project and senior management.
· Assist the Project Manager to monitor the project budget and take corrective action where required.
· Attend site inspections and assist the Project Manager to prepare estimates and submissions for works under the contract.
· Assist the Project Manager to monitor field productivity against budget and identify and take action where targets are not being met.
· Understand and monitor the project(s) scope to ensure variations are identified
· Ensure that Site Supervisors are managing and supervising subcontract works to ensure compliance with contract requirements.
· Assist the Project Manager to obtain project completion as early as practical and no longer than 1 month after the completion of commissioning.
· Establish and maintain a positive and productive client relationship to assist in project delivery and maximise the opportunity of repeat business.
· Assist the Project Manager to coach site staff and drive improvement in the implementation of OHS, quality and environmental processes.
Quality
· Ensure that all construction works comply with the plans and specifications.
· Monitor the standard of workmanship on site.
· Ensure that delivery dockets are checked by the Site Supervisor when materials are received.
· Ensure that inspections and tests are carried out for every stage of the project as per approved ITP’s and that all testing and hold points are observed and all records are signed and filed appropriately.
· Review project specific quality documentation that has been prepared by the HSEQ team and the provision of the same to the Site Supervisor.
Safety
· Complete a weekly Workplace Inspection Report (WIR).
· Ensure that all incidents and high potential incidents are reported by the Site Supervisor to the Project Manager and HSEQ team immediately and assist the Project Manager to prepare an incident report within 48hrs of the event.
· Assist the Project Manager to raise Corrective Action Requests (CAR) and Non-Conformance Reports (NCR) as required.
· Assist the Project Manager to review the project specific WHS documentation that has been prepared by the HSEQ team and the provision of the same to the Site Supervisor.
· Ensure that safety risk assessments are being performed for all activities on site.
· Ensure that toolbox talks and task observations are being performed on site as per the frequency requirements in the project specific safety management plan.
· Ensure that emergency evacuation drills are being performed on site.
· Ensure that site activities are compliant with the Project Safety Management Plan.
Environmental
· Ensure that site environmental risk assessments are being performed.
· Assist the Project Manager to review project specific environmental documentation that has been prepared by the HSEQ team and the provision of the same to the Site Supervisor.
· Ensure that site activities are compliant with the Contract Environmental Management Plan.
