About the opportunity:
The National Operations Manager reports to the Chief Operating Officer – Supply Chain and ensures a strong alignment and communication between factory operations and the NEX building businesses to ensure on time delivery. The key focus of this role is to be responsible for the end-to-end performance of Supaloc’s multi-site steel frame manufacturing operations. More specifically, you will:
- Lead and oversee daily, weekly and monthly production performance across all manufacturing facilities.
- Drive standardisation of processes, work instructions and operating rhythms across sites.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on labour efficiency, throughput, waste reduction and OEE.
- Identify and implement automation opportunities suited to a labour-intensive manufacturing environment.
- Manage manufacturing cost performance including labour, materials, overheads and maintenance spend.
- Develop and manage manufacturing budgets, forecasts and capacity plans in alignment with business demand.
- Ensure strong safety leadership, WHS compliance and proactive risk management across all sites.
- Establish and maintain preventative maintenance and asset reliability programs.
- Lead, coach and develop site-based leadership teams and succession plans.
- Work closely with NEX Building Group construction teams to improve communication, planning accuracy and
- delivery outcomes.
- Work with Engineering and R&D teams to support continuous improvement and new solution.
About you:
You will share a passion for our purpose and be aligned to our core values; better together, be accountable, people matter and think bigger. In addition, you will bring:
- Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management or a related discipline.
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Proven experience leading multi-site manufacturing operations
- Expertise in lean manufacturing, continuous improvement and OEE in practical factory environments.
- Strong commercial and financial acumen with experience managing manufacturing budgets and cost drivers
- Clear communicator who can bridge operational and commercial priorities.
