About You
The successful candidate will be able to bring both technical skill and creative spark to our team. You will possess solid technical knowledge and previous experience in a senior engineering/maintenance role, ideally within the hospitality or hotel industry. You are confident in managing a team and establishing high standards for safety, quality, and service. Troubleshooting skills are your specialty with the ability to think on your feet. You are organised, always prepared with a plan B and can remain calm under pressure. You have a thorough understanding of building systems and maintenance tools, recognising the importance of documentation and compliance. Overall, you are committed to ensuring Monarto Safari Resort & Safari Lodge runs smoothly, so every guest enjoys a remarkable experience.
About The Role
As Chief Engineer/Maintenance Manager at Monarto Safari Resort & Safari Lodge, you will play a pivotal role in creating an extraordinary guest experience. Key responsibilities will include:

Oversee the daily operation and maintenance of all engineering systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical.

Lead, schedule, and support the engineering team, ensuring effective coverage and upholding high standards of work.

Manage and implement preventative maintenance programs for equipment, guest rooms, and public areas to ensure a seamless operation.

Respond swiftly to maintenance requests or emergencies, minimising disruption to our guests and operations.

Collaborate with department heads to support the resort’s operational needs and ensure seamless service delivery.

Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards, as well as legal and brand requirements.
