The Position:
We are currently seeking dedicated Disability Support Workers to join our growing team supporting a participant located in Moe.
The participant has an ABI (Acquired Brain Injury) and requires support with community access, shopping, in-home supports, meal preparation, prompting, reminders, and overnight/sleepover shifts.
The participant has a great sense of humour, enjoys having a laugh, and values support workers who are easygoing, proactive, and genuine.
No two days are the same in this role, and building a positive, trusting relationship is extremely important.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Minimum 2 years experience in disability support or a similar field
- Demonstrated knowledge of disability support and mental health
- Current First Aid & CPR Certificate (or willing to obtain)
- Current Victorian Driver’s Licence and reliable vehicle
- NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willing to obtain)
- ABI experience preferred
- Manual handling and medication training highly regarded
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Basic computer and technology skills required

Tasks & responsibilities
- Work with a participant who has varying needs.
- Flexible work arrangements around their individual needs, including shift times/days, personal care tasks.
- You may need to undergo additional training such has manual handling, medication training, etc.
- Be available for last-minute calls to fill in cancelled shifts.
- Must be avaiable for overnights
Important Stability Requirements
- This participant benefits from routine, familiarity, and stable supports. We are looking for support workers who are genuinely committed to building long-term working relationships and providing consistent care and support.
- The role requires availability for overnight/sleepover shifts and flexibility with shift times where required.
- This position may not be suitable for applicants with limited or inconsistent availability, or those unable to commit to ongoing shifts.
- We are open to hiring multiple suitable applicants to create a strong, reliable, and consistent support team around the participant.
- A meet and greet with the participant are required prior to commencement, as finding the right personality fit and support style is very important.
