Responsibilities

· Inventory & Costing: Reconciling inventory records with general ledger, tracking freight costs, and managing asset depreciation.

· Accounts Payable/Receivable: Processing supplier invoices (receipts, freight), handling creditor reconciliations, and managing client invoicing for storage/logistics.

· Financial Reporting: Preparing reports on budget performance, warehousing expenditures, and operational efficiency.

· Compliance: Ensuring adherence to financial regulations and internal audit standards regarding goods movement.

· System Maintenance: Maintaining accurate data in ERP/accounting software (e.g., Xero).

Skill & Experience

· Experience: Proven experience in a finance or accounts officer role, preferably within logistics or manufacturing.

· Skills: Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.

· Attributes: Detail-oriented, analytical, with strong organizational skills.

Performance Goal

· Achieve 99% Inventory Accuracy: Reduce discrepancies between physical stock and system records to 1% or less through rigorous weekly cycle counts and reconciliation.

· Optimize Inventory Turnover: Increase the inventory turnover rate by 10% through analysis of slow-moving stock, helping to free up working capital and reduce carrying costs.

· Reduce Inventory Shrinkage: Lower stock shrinkage (loss due to theft, damage, or misplacement) by 15% annually by improving control processes in receiving and picking.

· Reduce Warehouse Operating Costs: Decrease total warehouse operating costs per unit by 5–10% by identifying inefficiencies in labor, utilities, or storage utilization.

· Control Labor Cost per Item: Maintain or reduce the labor cost per unit processed to improve margins, especially during peak seasons.

· Optimize Carrying Costs: Reduce carrying costs (storage, insurance, depreciation) as a percentage of overall inventory value through better replenishment planning.

· Improve Reporting Timeliness: Reduce the monthly closing cycle for warehouse financials from X days to Y days, ensuring faster data availability for decision-making.

· Enhance Data Accuracy: Achieve 100% accuracy in invoice processing and vendor payments by automating the reconciliation process.

· Ensure Regulatory Compliance: Maintain 100% compliance with safety, tax, and auditing standards (e.g., SOX) to eliminate penalties.

· Automate Invoicing: Transition to a digitalized, automated invoice approval system to improve workflow efficiency and eliminate manual errors.

· Implement Cycle Counting System: Implement a new barcode scanning system or improve the existing WMS (Warehouse Management System)
