With over 40 years’ experience, R+R Cabinets is a family owned & operated major player in the manufacture, supply, and installation of joinery for some of Melbourne’s biggest and best builders. With a recently built state of the art manufacturing facility located in Truganina, we are fast becoming the cabinet maker of choice in the detached and multi-residential Victorian building industry.
Due to our continued growth, R+R Cabinets is currently seeking an experienced Wood Machinist / Machine Operator to join our production team.
About the Role:
- Read and interpret production drawings, work orders, and specifications.
- Set up woodworking machinery, including panel saws, edge banders, CNC machinery, and other production equipment so they are safe and effective for operation.
- Machine, cut, shape, drill, and finish timber, MDF, laminate, and other cabinet-making materials.
- Monitor machine performance and product quality throughout production runs.
- Determine machine, tooling, and material requirements for manufacturing processes.
- Conduct routine machine maintenance and ensure equipment is operating safely and efficiently.
- Assemble cabinet components and prepare products for installation.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment in accordance with company policies and workplace safety standards.
- Work collaboratively with production team to meet project deadlines.
- Comply with all Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) requirements, company policies, and procedures
Skills and Experience:
- Relevant qualification including Certificate III in Carpentry, Diploma in Building and Construction or other related or highly related field of study.
- 2+ years of demonstrated experience as a Wood Machinist, Cabinet Maker, or Machine Operator within the woodworking industry.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and production schedules.
- Experience operating woodworking machinery in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality workmanship.
- Understanding of workplace health and safety requirements.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills.
