We are seeking an experienced Pastry Chef to lead our pastry operations, with a flexible role that may also include duties in other kitchen sections as required.

About the Role
You will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the pastry section, ensuring a high standard of product quality, efficient kitchen operations and strong team performance. Working under the direction of the Executive or Head Chef, you will maintain excellent standards for all desserts and baked goods, and support overall kitchen performance. This role may also include duties in other kitchen sections as required.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the pastry section to ensure smooth and efficient production
- Deliver consistently high-quality pastries and desserts, ensuring presentation standards are met
- Contribute to menu design, special event menus and function planning, including prep and service
- Lead, mentor and support junior chefs in your team
- Assist in other kitchen sections when required
- Oversee inventory, ordering and stock rotation of pastry ingredients
- Perform costing for the pastry section
- Coordinate inventory for pastry ingredients, monitor stock levels and liaise with suppliers for ordering
- Work closely with the Executive or Head Chef to ensure kitchen standards, operational goals and business objectives are met
- Maintain compliance with WHS, food safety and company policies
- Handle operational issues and problem-solve in real time during service
About You
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Pastry Chef in a premium or high-quality dining environment
- Experience with bread production is a plus, but not required
- Strong teamwork and coaching abilities within a kitchen setting
- Excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities
- High attention to detail and passion for producing top-quality pastries and desserts
- Flexible availability to work evenings, weekends and public holidays
