Latrobe Regional Health is looking for Occupational Therapist Hand Therapy (Grade 2) to join our growing team on a part time (0.6EFT) ongoing basis.
The Occupational Therapist (Hand Therapy) Grade 2 provides specialised outpatient hand therapy services to patients with traumatic, acquired and post‑operative upper limb conditions. This role delivers high‑quality, evidence‑based assessment, intervention and splinting to optimise functional outcomes and support patients’ return to daily activities and work. Working within a multidisciplinary team, the position also provides supervision and support to Grade 1 Occupational Therapists, Allied Health Assistants and students, contributing to workforce capability, service development and continuous improvement aligned with organisational standards and patient‑centred care principles.

The role of the Occupational Therapist Hand Therapy (Grade 2) is to:

Deliver high‑quality, evidence‑based hand therapy services, including assessment, intervention, splinting and outcome measurement to optimise patient function.

Manage and prioritise a clinical caseload while ensuring effective coordination of care through multidisciplinary collaboration and timely intervention.

Provide clinical supervision, support and direction to Grade 1 Occupational Therapists, Allied Health Assistants and students.

Contribute to service coordination, including development, implementation and review of clinical systems, policies and procedures.

Participate in quality improvement, risk management and service development initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and service efficiency.

Build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, supporting integrated care, education and service delivery across the continuum.
About you
Ideal candidates for this role will have:

A recognised Occupational Therapy qualification with current AHPRA registration and eligibility for Occupational Therapy Australia membership.

At least two years’ clinical experience, including experience in hand therapy and upper limb rehabilitation.

Demonstrated expertise in hand therapy techniques such as splinting, exercise prescription, wound/scar management and functional rehabilitation.

Strong organisational, time‑management and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to manage competing clinical priorities.

Experience or capability in supervising and supporting junior staff, students and Allied Health Assistants.
