Full Job Description

Bellevue Reception is seeking experienced and dedicated full-time Chef and Cook professionals to join our team in Geelong, Victoria. These positions are essential to maintaining high standards of food quality, kitchen operations, and customer service within our hospitality operations.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Chef

Planning and designing menus, including developing and updating dishes in line with customer preferences and seasonal availability
Preparing, cooking, and presenting a wide variety of Indian dishes to a consistently high standard
Supervising kitchen operations and coordinating food preparation activities
Monitoring quality of food during preparation, cooking, and presentation stages
Demonstrating cooking techniques and providing guidance to kitchen staff on preparation procedures
Training, supervising, and rostering kitchen staff, including cooks and kitchen hands
Managing stock control, ordering supplies, and liaising with suppliers
Monitoring food costs, portion control, and minimising wastage
Ensuring compliance with food safety, hygiene, and workplace health and safety regulations
Inspecting food supplies and ingredients to ensure freshness and quality
Ensuring kitchen equipment is maintained and operated safely
Maintaining a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen environment

Cook

Preparing and cooking Indian dishes in accordance with established recipes and business standards
Assisting with food preparation, portioning, and presentation of meals
Supporting daily kitchen operations to ensure timely and efficient service
Monitoring food quality and maintaining consistency in taste and presentation
Assisting with stock rotation, storage, and inventory control
Ensuring compliance with food safety and hygiene requirements
Cleaning kitchen areas, utensils, and equipment to maintain a safe work environment
Assisting senior kitchen staff with menu preparation and kitchen organisation
Following workplace health and safety procedures at all times

Position Requirements:

Chef

The successful candidate should:

Hold a Diploma of Hospitality Management or a related qualification
Have at least 1 year of relevant experience as a Chef, preferably specialising in Indian cuisine
Demonstrate strong knowledge of cooking techniques, food preparation, and presentation
Have experience supervising kitchen staff and coordinating kitchen operations
Possess a sound understanding of food safety and hygiene standards
Be able to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment
Have strong organisational and communication skills
Be available to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays

Cook

The successful candidate should:

Hold a Certificate III/IV in Commercial Cookery or related qualification, or equivalent industry experience
Have relevant experience in food preparation and cooking, preferably in Indian cuisine
Demonstrate knowledge of food handling, preparation, and kitchen procedures
Have the ability to work effectively within a team environment
Possess a good understanding of food safety and hygiene practices
Be reliable, organised, and able to work under pressure
Be available to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays
