We are seeking to establish a pool of Technical Support Officers - Theatre for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2026 school year and up to the end of Term 2, 2027. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

The Role
As a Technical Support Officer – Theatre you will prepare the classroom, studio/theatre, and workshop to enable the teacher to instruct students. You will maintain appropriate documentation for all equipment, machinery, and materials in accordance with occupational safety and health requirements.
Suitable applicants will work collaboratively as part of a production team, to assist in the operation of school and community events including assemblies, performances, exhibitions, screenings and promotional events.
THEATRE
As a suitable applicant, you will work closely with college staff and the Theatre Manager to support the college in its productions and associated events. You will assist in the day to day running of the stage management department and provide practical, hands on support to staff and students to enrich and extend their learning experiences.
The role includes supporting productions by managing props, including sourcing and/or making them, while staying within production budgets as requested. Applicants with experience in calling shows, floor management, set dressing and the safe handling of stage equipment will be highly regarded. You should be able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team while still meeting deadlines, and you will support teachers, students and staff in maintaining technical equipment and resources in accordance with occupational safety and health practices.
COSTUME
As a suitable applicant, you will work closely with college staff and the theatre manager to conceptualise, design and construct costumes for college productions. You will assist in maintaining the college’s costume department and provide practical, hands‑on support to staff and students to enrich and extend their learning experiences.
The role also includes styling wigs, shoes, accessories and other wearable items, as well as undertaking hand sewing and operating both domestic and industrial sewing machines. Applicants with experience in dyeing, fitting, pattern cutting and creating theatrical effects will be highly regarded. You should be able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team, and you will support teachers, students and staff in maintaining technical equipment and resources in accordance with occupational safety and health practices.
