About the role
You will join one of the world’s leading and connected rural health services as the Health and Security Assistant, where we are driven by a single goal: healthier rural people and thriving communities. Supporting the care delivery team is at the heart of this role, providing assistance to the nursing team in the delivery of patient care under the guidance of nursing staff.

Duties include providing general assistance in wards, undertaking cleaning duties, assisting with patient transfers throughout the facility, and carrying out security-related tasks as required or directed. The role involves cleaning in areas near the Emergency Department and inpatient units, as well as performing routine security checks while working closely with both the cleaning and nursing teams.

The position forms part of the Patient Support Services team at Lachlan Health Service, which consists of approximately 45 staff across cleaning, catering, and security services and operates seven days per week. The successful applicant will be supported through a buddy system and ongoing team assistance to learn the role effectively. Physical fitness and the ability to perform cleaning and security-related tasks throughout the duration of each shift are essential requirements for this position.
