Senior Civil Engineer – Melbourne Water Team

We’re growing our Water team in Melbourne and are looking for a Senior Civil Engineer to play a key role in delivering major infrastructure projects and building on our civil capability. This is more than a delivery role — it’s an opportunity to:

Step into a technical leadership position
Mentor and uplift junior engineers
Influence how we grow and shape our team capability
Work across a national network, not just a single office

You’ll be joining a team with a strong pipeline across water, energy, and major infrastructure sectors, with exciting bids and projects already in motion.

Here are the key things you will do to ‘bring ideas to life’:

Lead the civil design and delivery of water infrastructure projects
Provide technical oversight across pipelines and treatment assets
Support projects across the full lifecycle — from concept design through to detailed design and Design & Construct delivery
Mentor and develop junior engineers
Work with clients, building strong and trusted relationships
Contribute to bids, proposals and business development
Collaborate across interstate teams (VIC, SA, QLD, WA) to deliver integrated solutions
Drive technical excellence and continuously improve delivery standards

What we’re looking for:

We’re looking for someone ready to step into a senior role - combining technical expertise with leadership. You’ll bring:

6+ years’ experience in civil engineering
Strong background in water infrastructure (Treatment and supply infrastructure)
Experience in a consulting or project delivery environment
Proven ability to mentor engineers
Experience working on multidisciplinary projects

Registrations & experience

Chartered Engineer (CPEng) / RPEV
RPEQ highly regarded
