Junior Pastry Chef

North Melbourne | Full Time

Shape the morning at Mörk.

Behind our cafés, our production kitchen produces the pastries, cakes and small details that define the Mörk experience — from croissants and morning buns through to what ends up in every cup we serve.

We’re looking for a Junior Pastry Chef to join the team — someone with a solid kitchen foundation who’s ready to move further into pastry and build their skills within a structured production environment.

This is a production-focused role, where consistency, pace and attention to detail matter day to day. We care about doing things properly — clean execution, good habits and consistent results.

The Role

You’ll work across:

Croissants, morning buns and laminated doughs (with support)
Cakes, tarts and baked pastry items
Preparation of components used across our venues
Daily production for multiple locations

This is a hands-on role in a structured, fast-moving kitchen. You’ll be part of a small team, contributing to daily production while building confidence across different areas of pastry.

Early starts are part of the role (approx. 4:30am).
The role runs Tuesday to Saturday, with Saturdays as part of the regular rhythm.

About You

You bring:

Experience in a professional kitchen (restaurant or pastry)
Good organisation, consistency and attention to detail
An interest in pastry, bakery or viennoiserie
A willingness to learn doughs and lamination
A reliable, team-first approach

You don’t need to have mastered lamination — but you should be curious, engaged and ready to learn.
