Cheeky Foods is an established Melbourne-based food distribution company with over 16 years of operation, supplying quality food products to retail, wholesale, and hospitality customers. The business has built a strong reputation for dependable service, quality products, and long-standing relationships across diverse customer markets.

Cheeky Foods is seeking a commercially focused and analytical Marketing Specialist to support the company’s marketing initiatives, advertising activities, business development strategies, and customer engagement programs. The successful candidate will play an important role in supporting sales objectives, analysing market trends, identifying commercial opportunities, and assisting in the development and execution of marketing strategies across diverse customer segments, including English and Spanish-speaking markets.

This role requires a professional with strong analytical, communication, and commercial skills who can contribute to the promotion, positioning, and growth of the company’s products and services within competitive market environments.

Key Responsibilities

Plan, develop, and organise advertising policies and marketing campaigns to support sales and business objectives.
Advise management and clients on advertising strategies and promotional campaigns to effectively reach target markets, increase consumer awareness, and promote company products and services.
Coordinate the production and execution of advertising and promotional campaigns, including activities related to artwork, copywriting, media content, and advertising placement, while ensuring deadlines and budget requirements are met.
Analyse data regarding consumer behaviour, purchasing patterns, and customer preferences to support commercial decision-making.
Interpret and forecast current and emerging consumer and market trends to identify potential business opportunities.
Research potential demand and market characteristics for new and existing products and services through the collection and analysis of sales, marketing, and statistical data.
Support business growth and commercial development through the preparation and implementation of marketing objectives, policies, and promotional programs.
Commission, undertake, and evaluate market research activities to identify opportunities for product development, customer engagement, and market expansion.
Advise management on marketing strategies relating to product mix, pricing, advertising, sales promotion, selling methods, and distribution channels.
Prepare and maintain marketing performance reports, sales analysis, forecasts, and customer activity reports for management review.
Maintain and update CRM systems, customer databases, and marketing reporting systems.
Liaise with customers, suppliers, and business partners in both English and Spanish to support commercial relationships and customer engagement activities.
Assist with account management activities and support initiatives aimed at improving customer retention and revenue growth.
Attend customer meetings, promotional events, and site visits when required.

Skills and Experience Required

Relevant bachelor qualification or equivalent industry experience in Marketing, Business, Commerce, or related field.
Previous experience in marketing, commercial analysis, sales support, or business development activities.
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
Experience interpreting sales and market data to support commercial outcomes.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience using CRM or reporting systems preferred.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Fluent English and Spanish language skills (essential).
Current full Australian driver licence (essential).
Own reliable vehicle (essential).
Ability to travel locally for customer meetings and business development activities.
